Friday Updates

- Laurel Park opens for its 10 date mini-meet. Lets see how the 10 percent take out will effect the handle?

- Anna "Rosie" Napravnik will be out until late October. She is recovering from a July 6th spill that caused her to have surgery on a wrist and hand. (according to her agent Steve Rushing)

- The Baltimore Sun announced today that they will no longer have horse racing entries or results in the print edition of the paper. Oh Well!

The Baltimore Sun still has a print edition! In all seriousness, this is unfortunate, but I know many agree that the Sun isn't much of a paper anyway and this only solidfies that position. As a regular reader of the free Baltimore Examiner, I am sure they are happy about this as they have provided entries to Pimlico and Laurel in the past in their paper, I hope this continues.

On a different note, it seems the Pimlico has established itself as a premier location for large music festivals on the east coast, I have attended the Virgin Music Festival the past two years, I hope it comes back again and again, if anything, this may lead to the continued debates on saving Pimlico and should keep Old Hill Top around as a multi-purpose venue. Thanks Mr. Bransen!
