The Hills Are Alive With Another Bad Name
Today's second race at Belmont is a maiden special weight affair for 2-year-old fillies at 5 furlongs. The morning line favorite at 5-2 is a Bernstein first time starter named Doremifasollatido. They may as well have named her "Hey Durkin - Try to Call This One". My kids and I tried practicing some stretch calls with her name this morning and just couldn't do it. I'm looking forward to seeing the race later to see how the pro's pro handles it.

do a deer a female deer
re a light of golden sun
fa a long long way to run
etc etc
i'd like to hear him call it w/o upping the pitch of his voice while saying it.
I saw this in the entries yesterday and loved it. I ordinarily hate these strung-together names, but this is classic. Durkin's going to have a field day.
Just watched the replay, was a very funny call...and he almost won! You could tell the announcer was concentrating really hard (Durkin was off today). He lost by a drop of golden sun.
