Mine has 8411 KELSO Drive, Essex, Maryland 21260.
KELSO. 5-Time Horse of the Year. I chuckled.
It makes sense. Kelso was bred by a Maryland-based owner and is interred in Chesapeake, MD, a mere 54 miles away from this census office.
Did you know that Kelso's sire, Your Host, was intended to be put down after a racing injury? The insurance company took possession of the colt after paying off the owner and stood him at stud to try to recoup some money.
All he did was produce a horse that is considered the 4th best thoroughbred to ever run in the United States.
After retirement from racing, the gelding Kelso began a second career show jumping and hunting.
Quite a difference from the delicate flowers we breed now that are retired with an injury after their 2-year-old season.
Don't forget to fill out your census form and be counted.
