A United Front in Maryland

Earlier today, the Maryland Racing commission announced an agreement between all of the horse racing and breeding factions in the state (Read the Article).

This is an enormous step forward for the racing industry in Maryland. For over a decade, the thoroughbred, standard bred, and breeding industry has argued with each other and the general assembly over simulcast, and revenue sharing. This agreement helps to present a united front, and creates a very strong lobby for slot machines in the state. In addition, they have agreed to end regulation that prohibited horse racing after 6:15 in the evening. This opens up the door for Magna entertainment to install lighting at Laurel Park.
