- "Say Anything" character Lloydobler makes his debut in the 4th at Aqueduct on Saturday. The John Cusack impersonator is owned by Steve Byk's Dee Tee Stables. The 3yo Smarty Jones colt is 15-1 morning line.
The same race also has the debut of another good one for Tom Durkin. Arrr Pirates Booty is 4-1 under Bug Boys favorite rider, Richard Migliore.
- Mike Luzzi rode 3 winners at Aqueduct on Friday. I wonder if the Elias Sports Bureau could tell us when that happened last. He earned them too, returning $8.80, $48.00 and $11.00. Luzzi is on the favorite in the Paumonok stakes today, Driven By Success.
- Big Brown's first foal was born and the filly is an ....... Indiana-bred? I would have put that at 99-1.
- The Kentucky Derby is returning to the traditional draw. Good. I didn't understand the added layer of complexity. KISS.
- If you haven't already, check out Equispace's thoughts about his first trip to the Big A. He brings a fresh perspective to a place we generally take for granted and belittle.

Ever see the Simpsons with the Itchy and Scratchy episode, Splay Anything?
The Mig was thrown when his mount in the first race, Honest Wildcat, broke down. It looks like he sustained only a concussion and a hip injury. It could have been much worse. Thank goodness.
Lloydobler finished a good second at 20-1. Arrr Pirates Booty finished seventh at 7-2 for Rosie Napravnik (another Bug Boys favorite), who stepped in for the injured Richie Migliore.
Mike Luzzi and Driven By Success could do nothing better than fifth in the Paumanok Stakes, which was won by Wall Street Wonder.
Huge Cusak fan. Thanks for the link and the hospitality on Thursday! I'm up for Arlington.
